SlakedAuthentic lime plaster, hand-troweled.

Slaked creates artisan lime-plaster finishes for distinctive residential and commercial interiors. We partner with designers, architects, and custom builders to bring natural depth, movement, and character to architectural surfaces.

Who we are

An artisan studio working between material, architecture, and art.

Slaked brings authentic lime and hand-applied craft into contemporary interiors. Each finish is considered in relation to the architecture, light, palette, and surrounding materials, creating a surface that belongs to the space.

What we do

Bespoke lime‑plaster finishes for architectural surfaces.

Slaked develops finishes for the surfaces that set the tone of an interior. These are some of the places where the material contributes depth and identity.

  • Fireplace surrounds
  • Range hoods
  • Feature walls
  • Entry and stair walls
  • Powder rooms
  • Bars and wine rooms
  • Niches and built-in architectural elements
  • Restaurant, hospitality, retail, and wellness focal surfaces

The material suits surfaces that carry a room, where texture and light do as much work as color.

Material and craft

Lime, light, and the movement of the hand.

Authentic lime plaster carries its own tonal movement, mineral character, and relationship with light. Applied by hand, each surface reveals subtle variation and the movement of the trowel.

These finishes are often called Venetian plaster. The foundation is the same in every case: real lime, mineral pigment, and marble aggregate, worked in thin layers and compressed with a steel trowel.

  • Authentic material

Lime, marble aggregate, and mineral pigment. The surface is what it appears to be.

  • Hand-shaped surfaces

Each layer is laid, compressed, and burnished by hand, and the trowel leaves its movement in the finish.

  • Developed for the interior

Color, texture, and sheen are drawn from the palette, light, and materials already in the room.

  • Natural depth and character

Lime holds a quiet tonal range that shifts as the light moves across it through the day.

  • Breathable and moisture-managing

Lime is vapor-permeable. Moisture moves through the surface and back out rather than being sealed in behind a film, and the mineral mass helps a room hold steady through heat and cold.

  • Naturally mold-resistant

Cured lime stays alkaline, a surface that gives mold and mildew little to take hold on.

  • Non-toxic to live with

No plastics, no solvents, and nothing off-gassing into the room once the surface is finished. A finish that is safe to raise a family around.

  • Enduring craft

A mineral surface that settles into the architecture and keeps its character.

Selected finishes

A range of surfaces, developed for the space.

Each finish begins from an authentic lime base and is adjusted in color, texture, and sheen for the interior it belongs to.

A Marmorino lime-plaster surface in soft sage, its open brushed movement lit from one side.

Marmorino

A classic lime finish with soft depth and a low, burnished sheen.

A Travertino lime-plaster surface in a pale, cool gray-white, worked to a fine, even, closely ridged texture.

Travertino

A more open, quarried texture with visible movement and shadow across the surface.

A Marmorino Fine lime-plaster surface in warm terracotta, polished to a sheen with pale mineral clouding through it.

Marmorino Fine

A tighter, smoother hand: quiet at a distance, detailed up close.

Process

Every project begins with a conversation about the space.

Samples are then developed around the interior palette, desired texture, and surrounding materials.

  1. Discuss

The space, the design direction, and the surface you have in mind.

  2. Sample

Samples are developed for color, texture, movement, and sheen.

  3. Refine

The finish direction is adjusted against the room and approved.

  4. Install

Scheduling is set and the surface is completed on site.

Bring depth and material character to the surface.

Designers, architects, builders, and commercial project teams are invited to start a conversation about the interior and the surfaces within it.
